In the tall green grass song birds sing freely and fragrant flowers bob their heads, blown by gentle breeze. Silently the bright sun watches. Blocked by cotton white clouds, it seems to wink. Social butterflies visit with each other. Some drink demurely from ornate china teacups; while others dance and sway. The moles burrow up from the ground like old grumpy men. Scowling scornfully, they look around as if to say, “must you butterflies make so much noise today?” Worker bees buzz around like waiters, making sure the cups stay full. All the while rascally rabbits court each other happily whispering all day. Who knows what those long eared shifty eyed whisperers ever say. The deer show themselves like great majestic landlords peeking from leafy green curtains; As if it were their land to survey. They stand amongst the leafy tall trees like parents watching small children at Childs play. Field mice hustle about, clearly too busy for play. Wonder where their off to, the way field mice scamper that way. Crickets add their sound, a steady staccato tune. Their full of themselves those crickets, when one stops its song, another seems to resume. The squirrels are in a tizzy they have no time for play. They cover their mouths with their hands, and squirrel their nuts away. They take time from their very busy work to stand in their trees and say, “winter will be here soon, don’t waste your day with play.” Feeling ignored the squirrels puff up their tails angrily, and quickly run away. “All work and no play; argues the butterflies “makes for a very boring and dull day.” Day does turn to night. The sky is lit by acrobatic firelight, as the fireflies give a show. Owls stretch and spread their wings, their eyes are all aglow. The bullfrogs in their deep husky voices echo to each other, “go, go, go.” The owls reply in-kind, “who, will my dinner be.” It sounds like they say, as their wings beat the air. Birds of night swoop deadly, small animals beware. Soon though the night will fade, and the sun shine will resume. Perhaps the ducks will come today and play a quacking tune.

Aww! That's so gorgeous and fun! I especially love the social butterflies sipping, and grumpy moles, and meddling neighbor squirrels, and and and... It's just all very cute, and spring.

Awww, it's pretty. I, too, love the social butterflies, and I also love the courting rabbits. You should post more.
